At Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA), we’re doing all we can to provide our members with as much support as possible, particularly with the current cost of living challenges.

We’re working closely with the Council and many other partners on this so all the information people need is available and they know where they can go for support.

As always, if we can offer any CWVA members one-to-one support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

All members can access advice from our team members with things like governance, volunteer management, training and much more.

Please note that CWVA will close at 5pm on Thursday 22 December until 9am on Tuesday 3 January for the festive period so you won’t be able to reach any of our team during that time.

Some members of the team will be available until 22 December and our profiles are all on our website so you can find the right person to contact.

Services over the Christmas period

We’re aware of the following services being offered over the Christmas period.

These are just a selection of the services that are available over the festive period so please check our social media platforms too as we regularly share what’s happening in the local community.

The Welcome Network’s live, interactive map outlines the food support available across west Cheshire more generally.

The Council-run Warm, Welcoming Spaces are affected by Christmas and New Year opening times.

As part of a commitment to improving access to services for residents regardless of whenever or however they choose to contact the Council, it has been reviewing and making changes to its current technology and telephony systems, as well as revising the face-to-face offer.

Online is still the quickest and easiest way for residents to access services, although the Council recognises not everyone has internet access or the technology to go online.

That’s why it’s important to offer alternative ways for residents to get help, including calling the contact centre for assistance or to book an appointment, or by visiting one of the Resident Assistance Points in key Council buildings and some libraries.

A level of support will also be rolled out to further libraries and the mobile library next year.

The contact centre can be called on: 0300 123 8123 (available Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm).

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
