CWVA launched a Vision for Volunteering last year, helping create a framework for investing time and resources into volunteering, and a key element is making sure volunteers feel appreciated.
Almost 200 nominations were received across the 11 categories, with a panel choosing a shortlist of nominees to attend the event at Chester Town Hall.

The following winners were announced on the day.
There was also a performance from Sankofa Songsters, an intergenerational choir working with local schools, care homes and charities.
Michael Mitchell, Volunteering Development Officer at CWVA, said: “The Volunteer Awards is always a popular event in the run up to Christmas, providing us with an opportunity to thank volunteers for everything they do.
“The number of nominations this year is the most we’ve ever received, highlighting the momentum our Volunteer Awards have gathered and the importance of volunteers.
“Volunteering not only makes a lasting impact on communities, but volunteers themselves can gain so much, from simply giving back to the community, socialising and gaining new skills.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved with the Volunteer Awards, as well as volunteers across Cheshire West who give so much to their local communities.”
CWVA offers a wide range of volunteering support to community sector organisations across Cheshire West, hosting a volunteering platform, coordinating Volunteer Managers Network meetings and more.
