You will no doubt have seen the Autumn Budget recently announced by the Government and, like others in the community sector, we’re concerned about some of the announcements in the Autumn Budget, particularly the increase in employer National Insurance contributions (NICs).

In west Cheshire, it is estimated that there are more than 5,300 people working full-time for charities, leading to a collective increase in employer NICs that could exceed £4.5 million. This isn’t taking into account the extra costs with living wages.

CWVA’s umbrella organisations, including the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), are talking to the Chancellor and Government about the impacts of the Autumn Budget, but we’ve put together a letter to our local MPs to raise our concerns.

If you’d like to add your support to the letter, we’d be happy to include your organisation name to it.
