Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) champions volunteering locally, promoting the benefits of volunteering, supporting volunteer managers with best practice and providing a volunteering platform for community sector organisations to use to attract potential volunteers.
Since the start of 2025, CWVA has worked with 151 people from 78 different organisations around volunteering, equating to more than 250 hours of support.
CWVA has also developed the Vision for Volunteering, helping create a framework for investing time and resources into volunteering, elevating its importance and extending its reach far and wide.
The Vision for Volunteering focuses on volunteering being inclusive, empowering, collaborative, experimental and appreciated.
Michael Mitchell, Volunteering Development Officer at CWVA, said: “Volunteers Week is our opportunity to say thank you to local volunteers and really celebrate the impact they make.
“Volunteers are incredibly important and, at CWVA, we recognise that as they really underpin a lot of services that are delivered in our communities.”
CWVA will be sharing messages about volunteering throughout Volunteers Week as part of the celebrations. You can do the same, using #VolunteersWeek.
