Youth Fed supports more than 5,000 young people, as well as their families and those who work with them, to help create a society where young people can achieve their full potential in life.

Working across the north west of England, Youth Fed provides a range of different services, such as mental health and wellbeing, careers and employability, citizenship and volunteering, and much more.

Youth Fed also works alongside partner organisations in different sectors, like schools, charities and groups, to support young people in the region.

Natalie, Operations Manager at Youth Fed, said: “We want to support young people in any way we can to empower them.

“Our services are vital and we see a massive difference in young people from when they start on programmes to leaving us.

“As we offer such a wide variety of programmes, we’re able to almost carousel them around so young people are getting more bespoke support from the wider team.”

Leah, Programme Coordinator, added: “The young people who come to my groups aren’t in school because they’re very anxious.

“They aren’t ready to go to work as they don’t have the confidence or self-esteem needed so it’s just about building some baby steps and getting them to a point where they realise they’re capable, taking down some of those barriers.”

Youth Fed works closely with Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA), engaging with alliances and partnerships and receiving support with training and other areas.

Natalie commented: “The meetings hosted by CWVA are really important and we always make sure we have a representative.

“It’s great for networking, finding out what we could potentially signpost people to in the local area and highlighting how people can access our services.

“It’s important to have those discussions to make sure there are the best possible services available for people based on their own needs.”

Kevin Bradburne, Director of Operations at Youth Fed who regularly attends CWVA’s alliance meetings, was recently presented with a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition for his services to young people.

CWVA can offer a range of support to all community sector organisations, such as training, funding support, starting up and governance support, volunteer management support, lived experience support, impact support and much more.

Alongside more bespoke support, CWVA acts as a voice for the community sector, helping create new opportunities for the sector and make sure it’s treated as an equal partner.
