Insight and intelligence

- Data is a powerful resource that all community sector organisations can use to their advantage

Whether it be highlighting the difference you’re making through your own services, supporting your funding bids or understanding the needs of local communities, data can be imperative for community sector organisations.

At CWVA, we wanted to pull together a range of helpful resources around data that you can access and use to support your work.

The Council has a section on its website dedicated to insight and intelligence, covering things like the latest Census data from 2021, Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), individual borough and ward profiles and much more.

The State of the Sector Report was launched recently, offering valuable information about the community sector in Cheshire and Merseyside.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisation’s (NCVO) UK Civil Society Almanac for 2023 also provides plenty of useful insights, covering the number of community sector organisations, the income generated by them, stats on volunteering and much more.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) offers you the chance to access a wide range of local data.

360 Giving is a charity that helps organisations publish open, standardised grants data and supports people to use it to improve charitable giving.

Don’t forget, we support hundreds of community sector organisations at CWVA and have links with services in different sectors across west Cheshire.

If you’re interested in connecting with other organisations or finding out more about the support available for people locally, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team.
