Community Information Project Lead - Citizens Advice Cheshire West

Location: Based at Winsford or Chester office with opportunity for hybrid working and in local Community Access Points (will require regular travel across district)

Salary: Salary £27,334 pa + excellent benefits

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

About the role
This is a new project focused on developing and establishing a team of community volunteers in designated marginalised areas within Cheshire West and Chester to (a) help residents who are finding it hard to access information about the services and support available to them and (b) develop the skills of volunteers to improve employability and/or wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • To recruit, train, develop and establish sustainable teams of volunteer Information Assistants in multiple venues across the district
  • To coordinate and support volunteers in community venues to provide a face to information service
  • To promote the information service to the local community
  • To develop and establish a productive ongoing relationship with the designated partner organisations

About you
You will have proven experience of successfully supporting the promotion of volunteer opportunities as well as the recruitment, training and ongoing engagement and recognition of volunteers and the value of their contribution to the service.
