As a champion for the community sector, CWVA has worked with Cadent on its Centres for Warmth project to provide much-needed funding to organisations.
From January to June 2024, the project has helped:
£35,000 of this recent funding has gone to Cheshire Community Action (CCA), providing an opportunity to top up grants that are given to organisations offering support as part of the Welcoming Spaces initiative.
These spaces are free for residents of all ages to use during their opening times and provide a space where people can socialise and stay warm during the winter months.
Joanne Stanton, who leads on CWVA’s partnership with Cadent, said: “The latest £100,000 in funding adds to more than £50,000 we distributed to community sector organisations earlier this year.
“At CWVA, we champion the community sector and aim to lever as much funding as possible into our sector.
“This partnership with Cadent has made a real difference to both community sector organisations and the people they support in their communities.
“The amount of people we’ve managed to reach through the early part of this project is really impressive and we’re looking forward to continuing our successful partnership with Cadent and other partners.”
CWVA’s website has a section dedicated to funding, providing an opportunity for community sector organisations to check out the different programmes they might be able to apply for. Organisations can easily filter by category so they can find opportunities that will suit them.
