Cheshire West Voluntary Action’s (CWVA) new volunteering platform is proving to be an extremely useful resource for the community sector to showcase their volunteering opportunities.

Since the platform was launched at the start of the year, more than 50 organisations have added a total of nearly 100 opportunities, with well over 100 volunteers signing up to browse and apply for the roles.

This new platform provides more flexibility as organisations can add their own opportunities and use the range of features available to manage volunteer recruitment from start to finish.

Browsing couldn’t be easier for potential volunteers as they can search for opportunities by location, category or provider, with plenty of information included on each advert to help people choose the right role for them.

Iona, who works for CWVA member RECORD LERC, said: “The new platform has been really helpful for us as a small organisation as we’ve seen our volunteer numbers really grow over the past year.

“It allows us to manage our volunteer opportunities and details all in one place and has made the process of recruiting new volunteers much smoother, saving us a lot of admin time.”

Dee Gunning, Development Officer at CWVA, added: “We’re delighted with the impact our new volunteering platform has had so far.

“We’ve seen more people volunteering during the COVID-19 pandemic than ever before and we wanted a platform that could help our members continue encouraging people to look at volunteering.

“Our volunteering campaign aims to bust some of the myths and show there are opportunities for everyone to support their local community. Volunteering is so flexible and can fit around people’s other commitments.

“As part of our campaign, we always signpost people to our volunteering platform so they can browse the opportunities available, apply for something they’re interested in and make a real difference.”

More than 70 opportunities are currently on CWVA’s volunteering platform for you to choose from.
