Nominations are now open for this year’s Volunteer Awards, which will take place in December and celebrate all the fantastic work volunteers do in communities across west Cheshire.
After holding Volunteer Awards during Volunteers Week in June previously, Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) switched it to December last year to round off the Year of Volunteering campaign and it’ll be held at the same time in 2021.
You can nominate volunteers in the following categories.
A Lifetime Achievement will also be selected by the CWVA team and presented to a volunteer for their dedication to the community sector over many years.
Clare Harrison, Deputy Chief Executive of CWVA, said: “Volunteer Awards is something all of us at CWVA look forward to as it’s a lovely way to thank our amazing volunteers in west Cheshire.
“We’ve introduced categories around the green, mental health and poverty agendas as they fit in with the key themes of our volunteering campaign in 2021.
“The work of volunteers has been key over the last year or so during the pandemic and many people have taken up volunteering for the very first time to support their communities in a time of need.
“We had a high number of nominations last year and it was extremely difficult for the panel to decide, but it’d be great to see just as many nominations this time around so we can celebrate all the amazing work people are doing.”
The deadline for nominations is Sunday 31 October. The panel will meet during November, with the winners announced on social media from early December.
