Course aims · To outline the legal and organisation duties of being a charity trustee. · To show how trustees can realistically play a positive and effective role. · To introduce some practical tools and ideas designed to build good governance.
Content · On board – an overview of the legal position and the roles and responsibilities of a charity trustee. · Who’s in charge? – through case studies we will look at the practical differences between governance and management. · Boards that work – a review of some practical ways of creating boards that are focused, effective and make a useful use of your time.
We all make judgments, and learn how this can impact how successful we are in carrying out our voluntary roles. Remember - your brain processes about 11 million pieces of information per second… yet you’re only consciously aware of about 40!
