Join Action Tutoring for their Volunteers week webinar! They are looking for volunteers to support pupils from low-income backgrounds in English or maths. Education in this country isn’t fair. If you are from a poorer socio-economic background, you’re less likely to pass your SATs or GCSEs, limiting future opportunities.
By volunteering for just one hour a week, you will support children to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future, as well as developing your own skills.
We all make judgments, and learn how this can impact how successful we are in carrying out our voluntary roles. Remember - your brain processes about 11 million pieces of information per second… yet you’re only consciously aware of about 40!
Find out moreThe first line of engagement is visual; it happens within the first few seconds. This training is designed to show how a volunteer can make an immediate positive impact. People typically remember only about 10% of what they hear… but up to 65% of what they see.
