Warren Lee Allmark has been named Trustee of the Year as part of Cheshire West Voluntary Action’s (CWVA) Volunteer Awards, recognising his contribution to Chester Pride and all the people the charity supports.

Volunteer Awards is a way of celebrating all the fantastic work volunteers do in their communities and winners will be announced over the coming weeks ahead of Christmas.

Warren took over as Chair of Trustees in 2018 and has worked tirelessly to improve things for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender plus (LGBT+) community in Chester and North Wales.

By taking an active role at Chester Pride, he has spearheaded many projects and initiatives that focus on providing the community with the support it needs.

Warren worked hard to make sure that, even though Chester Pride couldn’t have its main event for the last two years, it could still have digital events that brought together around 8,000 members of the community.

He has also found innovative ways to diversify the charity’s incomes and build relationships with external organisations that have not only helped Chester Pride continue, but also seen the charity grow during the pandemic.

The person who nominated Warren said: “Thanks to his involvement with the charity, we have provided more direct help to the community, recruited more volunteers, increased our income, improved our operations and are poised to launch our own café and community venue, using Warren’s commercial skills to expand our work even further and help secure the future financial viability of our charity.”

Everyone at CWVA would like to congratulate Warren on being named Trustee of the Year.
