The project is funded by the Westminster Foundation and supports CWVA’s Vision for Volunteering (2025-30).
A series of coproduction workshops took place earlier this year, working with a wide range of young people and the community organisations they attend to look at the barriers when accessing volunteering opportunities.
The findings from these workshops created a training programme that has been delivered to organisations, helping them shape their volunteering opportunities in a way that will encourage more young people to get involved.
A video has also been created as part of the project, sharing the voices of young people and their vision for volunteering in Cheshire West.
Michael Mitchell, Volunteering Development Officer at CWVA, said: “This has been an excellent project for CWVA to lead on, supporting the priorities set out in the Vision for Volunteering.
“The voices of young people have shaped the project from the start, and we’ve worked with different community organisations and groups of young people to capture a diverse range of voices.
“We hope that the training programme and resources will support organisations to create more meaningful volunteering opportunities for young people, and we’ll see an increase in the number of young people taking up these roles in the future.”
CWVA offers a wide range of support around volunteering, working with volunteer managers, hosting a volunteering platform and more.
