Mandy White has been named Green Champion of the Year for the time she has given up to volunteer at Chapter Mental Health over many years.

Cheshire West Voluntary Action’s (CWVA) Volunteer Awards is a way of celebrating all the fantastic work volunteers do in their communities and winners will be announced over the coming weeks ahead of Christmas.

Green Champion of the Year is a new category for 2021 as, alongside mental health and poverty, climate has been one of the key themes of CWVA’s volunteering campaign.

While Mandy’s volunteering goes back a number of years, she’s really stepped up to the mark by looking after Chapter’s Polytunnel in Hoole, helping grow fresh vegetables.

She is very willing to share her skills and knowledge with other people, especially those who live with a mental health condition, so they can learn to grow their own produce and focus on something else for a few hours.

Everyone at CWVA would like to congratulate Mandy on being named Green Champion of the Year.
