At CWVA, we’re proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week alongside members of the Mental Health Alliance in Cheshire West.

Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place from 11 to 17 May 2026, is an opportunity for us all to:

  • raise awareness of mental health and reduce stigma
  • encourage open conversations about wellbeing
  • highlight support available locally and nationally
  • celebrate the organisations, volunteers and wider communities making a difference every day.

The theme for this year’s awareness week is action: for yourself, for someone else, for all of us. Action has been chosen because, while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too. Together, we’ve come a long way on mental health, but we can’t risk going backwards. There’s still much we can do to prevent people becoming unwell in the first place.

The Mental Health Alliance, coordinated by CWVA, brings together community sector organisations working in the mental health field, helping set a collective, strategic voice, encouraging partnership work, and acting as a key point of contact for public sector partners.

Content will be shared by CWVA and Mental Health Alliance members throughout Mental Health Awareness Week, using #MentalHealthAlliance and #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek on social media.
