Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) will once again be running a volunteering campaign in 2023, highlighting the range of opportunities available and encouraging more people to get involved with their local communities.

The volunteering campaign has been a big success since it first launched, introducing thousands of people in west Cheshire to volunteering.

By busting some of the myths about volunteering and showing there are opportunities for everyone no matter what your interests are or skills you have to offer, the campaign aims to increase the number of people volunteering locally, as well as helping organisations retain existing volunteers.

Following a successful Volunteer Awards, celebrating some of the inspiring things volunteers have done locally, the campaign will focus on a number of different themes in 2023.

  • January and February – cost of living
  • March and April – environment
  • May and June – celebration of volunteers
  • July and August – younger volunteers
  • September and October – mental health
  • November and December – good neighbours

By having dedicated themes throughout the campaign, it’ll help focus on what volunteers are doing in these areas and how you might be able to play your part.

The campaign will signpost people to CWVA’s volunteering platform, which currently has nearly 100 different opportunities advertised on it and more than 700 registered volunteers looking for roles.

This platform is completely free for CWVA members to use so they can advertise their opportunities and take advantage of useful tools, such as being able to manage volunteers, fill out time sheets and much more.

Anyone looking to volunteer can also register for free and browse the opportunities by location, service area and more.
