Enables learners to recognise signs of poverty and exclusion, understand the benefits of money advice and what regulated advice means. Then use the skills & knowledge to help users access the best, most appropriate, free and impartial money, benefits and debt advice available and support them through the money advice process.

WHAT IS COVERED:

  • The difference between information, guidance, advice and casework services and regulated debt advice
  • How to react appropriately if someone confides in you that they have a debt problem
  • Identifying the most common causes of debt and how to spot the most common symptoms of financial crisis.
  • Know which type of advice provision and what level of support meets your client’s needs and how to access.
  • Make a client referral to Pennysmart CIC and/or other money advice providers

No prior knowledge is needed or assumed to benefit from this course.
