News - Wishing a talented member of staff well in her new venture

After nearly nine years working at Cheshire West Voluntary Action, we’re very sad to see Business and Charity Connector Joanne Walton leave us in November to join Passion for Learning, another voluntary and community sector organisation close to her heart.

At CWVA, we’re a very close-knit team. Many of us, including Joanne, have worked here for a long time and you naturally become very good friends. Saying goodbye to somebody you see pretty much every day (until COVID-19 came along) is difficult.

For a large part of her time at CWVA, Joanne has led our successful SkillShare project, which matches businesses and business people with our members, whether they are charities or community groups.

Joanne is the perfect person for the role as she has so many excellent contacts in the business world and knows which businesses will be the right fit for our members. She has made hundreds of successful matches as part of the project. When you speak to our SkillShare partners, they always mention Joanne, the valuable role she plays and how she always manages to work her magic. She is so well thought of by both SkillShare partners and our members.

Like a lot of people and organisations in this sector, we’re always so busy supporting others that we often forget the real difference we make. Joanne’s work on the SkillShare project has significantly benefited many charities and community groups with limited resources.

Good luck, Joanne. Thank you for everything you’ve done for CWVA and the wider sector during your time with us. You’ll be missed.
