As 2024 draws to a close, I wanted to thank all our member organisations and partners for their support this year.

At Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA), we’re delighted to have worked with around 1,100 different people from more than 200 different organisations so far this year, equating to nearly 3,600 hours of support. This ranges from training to funding support to engagement with our alliances and partnerships and much more.

2024 has been another extremely busy year for organisations we support across the community sector and we’re aware of some of the challenges you’re facing, with demand rising on services while funding is becoming increasingly difficult to come by.

We’re very proud to champion the community sector, highlighting the invaluable services you provide, how important it is for the sector to be treated as an equal partner and how we can alleviate some of the pressures we’re facing.

The community sector provides professional, impactful services that offer real value for money and we’re encouraged by discussions with public sector partners to invest more in the sector, particularly around prevention and early invention.

Projects like Community Home First and CWVA coordinating Community Partnerships are examples of the real difference the community sector can make in this area.

Please be reassured that we’ll continue to champion the community sector in any way we can and develop our offer in line with your needs.

Our office will be closed after Friday 20 December, although several members of our team will be working remotely up until Christmas Eve, so please reach out to us should you need any support.

From everyone at CWVA, we’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to working with you all again in 2025.

Gary Cliffe
Chief Executive, CWVA
