Live! Cheshire offers inclusive, accessible and high-quality learning, personal development and social activities for children, young people and adults with disabilities, helping empower them so they can enjoy life to the full.

Based in Chester, Live! provides activities in the day, evenings and weekends, meaning there’s something for everyone to get involved with.

Live! currently has more than 100 members regularly engaging with activities, including popular events like Big Live!, Inbetweeners, Social Action and much more.

After attending Live! activities and volunteering with the charity, Joe has recently started paid employment.

He said: “It’s a vital service for people with disabilities, having somewhere they can feel safe, make friends and have a genuinely good time.

“I know there are people with disabilities out there who feel isolated.”

Joe is part of a Social Action Committee, helping plan activities run by Live! and deciding which projects should be funded through the Live! lottery, set up to raise funds for the charity.

Gemma, another member of the Social Action Committee, added: “It’s really nice to meet people and make friends.

“It’s a brilliant organisation, especially Big Live!, and you’ll really enjoy yourself when you come here.

“The staff are lovely and everyone always has a good laugh.”

New members are welcome to join Live! and, while it is free, any donations to the charity are gratefully accepted.

The Social Action Committee is one of Live!’s projects funded by the National Lottery, returning a social value of £4.81 per £1, based on reducing social isolation and connecting people in the local community.

Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) has helped Live! calculate social value figures for the projects it runs. If you’d like support with demonstrating social value and impact, please email: ryan.gould@cwva.org.uk.

Community sector organisations like Live! receive a range of other support from CWVA, including training, funding advice, network and alliance meetings and much more.
