- Helping communities access the food support they need
The aim of the Food Partnership is to create a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system in west Cheshire by working in partnership to tackle issues related to food, and helping make sure everyone has access to affordable, healthy, sustainable and enjoyable food to make a decent meal.
The Food Partnership is a member of the Sustainable Food Places Network and a partner project of Feeding Britain, delivering the Food for All Plan locally.
This plan is based on five key principles.
There are currently nine sub groups that feed into the Food Partnership, covering the areas of start well, eat well and grow well.
Any organisations or individuals interested in the local food system are welcome to engage with the Food Partnership.
If you’d like to get involved, please email Rebecca Story, Strategic Lead for the Food Partnership at CWVA: rebecca.story@cwva.org.uk.
The West Cheshire Food Partnership has a live, interactive map.
We’d encourage you to reach out to the individual organisations or services, or check their website or other communication channels, before you visit to check on their opening hours and availability.
There are local foodbanks that can support you.
The Council also has a section on its website about the cost of living and support you can access.
The West Cheshire Food Partnership ebulletin is issued monthly, sharing the latest news from the different sub groups, how you can access CWVA’s support and much more.
CWVA has received money from the Household Support Fund to distribute to a number of community sector organisations that are working across west Cheshire to support people in their communities.
This is one of many funding pots distributed by CWVA and a funding section is available on the website, helping you find funding streams your organisation might be able to apply for.
