This takes the total distributed by CWVA on behalf of Cadent to around £500,000 since the partnership began, providing a real boost for the community sector in Cheshire West.
This latest grants programme for 2026-27, worth more than £100,000, has supported 11 different organisations through the Centres for Warmth project, providing an even spread across the borough and working with a wide range of groups.
Five organisations – Age UK Cheshire, Citizens Advice Cheshire West, Dial West Cheshire, Pennysmart CIC, and St Mark’s Debt Advice – have been funded around energy efficiency and income maximisation, helping people build longer-term resilience.
During 2025-26, the partnership between CWVA, Cadent and the wider community sector made a real impact by:

“Cadent has extended the partnership for another couple of years, and we’re delighted to be funding 16 different organisations in 2026-27.
“It also fits in well with the work of the Financial Resilience Forum, which CWVA has been coordinating with the wider community sector and partners to put together a more seamless pathway for those seeking support around financial resilience.”

CWVA is also distributing the Crisis and Resilience Fund, with community sector organisations able to apply for up to £2,000.
This fund is designed to provide effective crisis support to those that encounter a financial challenge and help individuals build their long-term financial resilience, reducing their dependence and repeat need for emergency assistance.
