Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) is delighted that 12 community sector organisations are now quality assured through the Mental Health Alliance’s new Quality Standards Framework (QSF).

While other accreditation processes exist, the QSF is an important milestone in the alliance’s journey, providing a robust framework to assure funders and other stakeholders that community sector organisations engaged with the alliance are delivering high-quality mental health services.

Since the QSF was launched in late 2025, two cohorts of six organisations have been through the process, which covers seven topics: governance, finances, policies, quality standards, communications and engagement, lived experience, and partnership working.

After completing a self-assessment, meetings took place with all 12 organisations to review their applications and clarify action points. A panel of representatives from CWVA, the Council and approved members of the alliance then met to review each application.

Each organisation was awarded either ‘developing’, ‘established’ or ‘embedded’ status across each element of the QSF.

The following organisations have successfully completed the QSF.

  • Café 71, Spider Project
  • Chapter Mental Health
  • Cheshire Mind
  • Cheshire Young Carers
  • Fallen Angels Dance Theatre
  • Healthy Minds Matter
  • Koala North West
  • ND Directed
  • Platform for Life
  • Radiate Arts
  • The Wilderness Tribe
  • Youth Fed

Andrew Herbert, Senior Strategic Lead for Neighbourhood and Partnerships at CWVA, said: “I’d like to congratulate all 12 organisations that have successfully been through the QSF process.

“Assuring stakeholders of the service quality in Cheshire West will give the Mental Health Alliance greater credibility as a collaborative network.

“While the QSF is a robust framework and process, we also wanted it to be a positive peer-to-peer experience, with plenty of mutual learning.

“We look forward to working with the next cohort of organisations and ultimately supporting as many alliance members as possible through the QSF process.”
