Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) has helped connect a group of Cheshire West and Chester Council staff with MHA Communities – Cheshire West so they could take part in a fun day of volunteering.

25 members of the Organisational Development (OD) and Human Resources (HR) team at the Council visited MHA Communities – Cheshire West in Ellesmere Port, carrying out a range of tasks that will benefit older people attending community-based services, living in care or accessing supported living services.

Liz, Head of OD and HR at the Council, said: “It was brilliant to carry out a volunteering away day with the OD and HR team recently.

“It was a great opportunity to give something back, use our transferable skills, learn some new ones and reconnect as a team.”

Many organisations like the Council offer employees the opportunity to volunteer in work hours, whether as a group or individual, as this is a great way to improve wellbeing, build morale and connect with the local community.

Whether you’re an individual or organisation looking for volunteering opportunities, or a community sector organisation wanting to offer these opportunities to others, CWVA can support you with employee volunteering.
