There’s often a volunteering opportunity for everyone based on your skills and interests, helping you improve your health and wellbeing, connect with others, develop new skills, have a sense of giving back to the community and much more.
This new platform will provide a central place for people in Cheshire and Warrington to start a volunteering search, showcasing almost 250 different volunteering opportunities in the region.
People interested in volunteering will follow the same process as before when registering and applying for opportunities, but they’ll now have a wider range of opportunities to browse in the region.
CWVA recently launched a new Vision for Volunteering (2025-30) and one of themes is volunteering being collaborative, working with neighbouring boroughs to make sure people can easily volunteer close to home, regardless of boundaries.
While this platform will now be a central place for volunteering in Cheshire and Warrington, CWVA, CVS Cheshire East and Warrington VA will still support community organisations in their area with accessing the platform and advertising their volunteering opportunities.
Gary Cliffe, Chief Executive of CWVA, said: “We want to make volunteering as accessible as possible as we’re aware the number of people volunteering is decreasing on a national and local level.
“There are still misconceptions about volunteering and we need to make sure people realise there’s often an opportunity for everyone, whether you’re looking to learn new skills, improve your own health and wellbeing or connect with others.
“Launching a new volunteering platform for the whole of Cheshire and Warrington is a positive step towards this as it will provide potential volunteers with access to a wider range of opportunities.
“We’ll remove any potential barriers that may have existed with the previous volunteering platforms for Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Warrington being separate.”
