Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) is working with its members to help youngsters kickstart their careers in the community sector.
The Government’s Kickstart scheme aims to create hundreds and thousands of new, fully funded jobs for 16 to 24-year-olds across England, Scotland and Wales.
With at least 30 new jobs needed as part of a bid, CWVA is coordinating the scheme for the community sector in Cheshire West and Chester. CWVA itself, along with Healthbox CIC, Cheshire Dance, Vivo Care Choices and many other organisations, will be offering employment opportunities through the scheme.
For each job placement, funding will cover:

“We knew it would be difficult for many of our members to create 30 new jobs so we wanted to coordinate this scheme for the wider sector.
“The scheme will help us introduce young people to our sector and hopefully lead to many more opportunities in the future.
“Our members deliver high-quality, professional services and there are many routes for people to create successful careers for themselves in the sector.”
Charities and community groups will all be supporting each other with training. Funding received for training can be spent between the different organisations involved and be used to purchase training from the wider community sector.
Training is already going to be offered in the following areas as part of the Kickstart scheme.
