Nominations are now open for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) 2022, closing on Wednesday 15 September.
QAVS is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation, is the MBE for volunteer groups and awarded for life.
The award is given to outstanding groups of volunteers whose level of initiative and impact are truly exceptional. Each group is assessed on the benefit it brings to the local community and its standing within that community. Volunteers are expected to be leading its work.
A number of Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA) members have already been given the award. OPAL Services was recognised for its work last year, while both the Neuromuscular Centre and Dial West Cheshire have been successful in the past decade.
